Favourite beaches

As a sun-loving Australian I am fond of a good beach. Here is a collection of my favourite beaches of the world.

Anse Source d’Argent, La Digue, Seychelles

The Seychelles has many beautiful beaches. The beach at Anse Source d’Argent is something else though. Unquestionably my favourite beach in the world (if only for it’s good looks).

Cahuita National Park, Costa Rica

A little peninsula in the Caribbean, protected from development by a jungle-filled national park, it’s coastline lined with picture-perfect beaches.

Kilili Beach, Saipan

How many places in the world can you swim alongside WWII tanks?

Lopes Mendes Beach, Ihla Grande, Brazil

Lopes Mendes Beach is often said to be Brazil’s most beautiful beach. And Brazil, you’d imagine, would have some pretty good contenders for the title.

Secret Lagoon Beach, El Nido, Philippines

Could this be the inspiration for Alex Garland’s hit novel The Beach?
