As a sun-loving Australian I am fond of a good beach. Here is a collection of the most alluring beaches I’ve encountered around the globe.
Alluring beaches: Africa
Anse Source d’Argent, La Digue, Seychelles
The Seychelles has many amazing beaches. The beach at Anse Source d’Argent is something else though. Unquestionably my favourite beach in the world (if only for it’s good looks).

Alluring beaches: Central America and the Caribbean
Cahuita National Park, Costa Rica
A little peninsula in the Caribbean, protected from development by a jungle-filled national park, it’s coastline lined with picture-perfect beaches.
Brownes Beach, Barbados
Brownes Beach sweeps around tranquil Carlisle Bay just south of the CBD of Bridgetown (the capital city of Barbados). This means not only is Brownes Beach the premier beach of the country, it’s also the most accessible.
Alluring beaches: Oceania
Kilili Beach, Saipan
How many places in the world can you swim alongside WWII tanks?
Alluring beaches: South America
Lopes Mendes Beach, Ihla Grande, Brazil
Lopes Mendes Beach is often said to be Brazil’s most beautiful beach. And Brazil, you’d imagine, would have some pretty good contenders for the title.
Alluring beaches: Asia
Secret Lagoon Beach, El Nido, Philippines
Could this be the inspiration for Alex Garland’s hit novel The Beach?
